Should I Keep Fighting or Just Let It Go?

Lately, I've found myself going back and forth on the same question over and over again:

Do I keep fighting against Levelland ISD, or do I finally let it go?

The truth is that I don't have an answer.

Some days I'm determined to keep pushing forward. I tell myself that if I stop, then everything I've invested up to this point was for nothing. I remind myself why I started and why I believed this fight mattered in the first place.

Then there are other days when I'm just tired.

Not tired because I think I'm wrong. Tired because fighting takes a lot out of a person. It takes time, energy, patience, and more mental space than most people realize. There are days when I don't want to think about it anymore. I don't want to reread documents, revisit old events, or spend another minute stressing about what comes next.

When all of this started, I thought things would be more straightforward. I thought if I gathered the facts, asked questions, and stayed persistent, eventually the truth would come out, and the issues would be addressed.

Instead, it feels like every step forward comes with two more obstacles.

The longer something drags on, the harder it becomes to stay motivated. What started as a fight over a specific issue turns into a battle with frustration, exhaustion, and doubt. Not doubt about what happened, but doubt about whether continuing is worth the personal cost.

That's the part people don't always see.

They see the public side of things. They see the statements, the updates, and the persistence. What they don't see are the moments when you're sitting alone wondering if it's time to move on. They don't see the nights when you're mentally drained from carrying the same burden for so long.

I've gone back and forth more times than I can count.

One day I tell myself I can't quit because accountability matters. The next day I wonder whether holding on is preventing me from moving forward with my life.

Neither choice feels easy.

If I keep fighting, I know there will be more frustration ahead. More waiting. More setbacks. More moments where I ask myself why I'm still doing this.

If I walk away, I'll probably always wonder if I quit too soon. I'll wonder what might have happened if I had just pushed a little harder or stayed in the fight a little longer.

That's what makes this decision so difficult.

People often think the hardest part of a battle is fighting the other side. Honestly, I'm starting to think the hardest part is fighting with yourself. Trying to figure out when persistence becomes stubbornness, or when letting go becomes peace instead of surrender.

Right now, I'm still somewhere in the middle.

Part of me wants to keep going.

Part of me wants to move on.

And if I'm being completely honest, I've probably changed my mind a hundred times.

Maybe that's okay.

Maybe it doesn't mean I'm weak or unsure. Maybe it just means I'm human.

For now, all I can do is keep weighing what's important, what's healthy, and what's worth continuing to fight for. I don't know what decision I'll ultimately make, but I do know that it hasn't been an easy journey.

And anyone who's ever been involved in a long fight knows exactly what I mean.
